The Regional Medical Center Expansion Project consisted of three new structures and several miscellaneous projects within the existing hospital.

Meade’s scope was to complete the structural concrete package for the Pediatric ICU, Central Plant, and Patient Wing. Each project consisted of foundations, structural walls, slab on grade, and slab on metal deck plus miscellaneous concrete structures such as equipment pads, stairs, ramps, etc.

Special attention was given to the site logistics. Parking (both public and construction), hospital access, and traffic control all required in-depth planning while other major renovations ran concurrently throughout the site.

Meade Construction worked closely with the Construction Manager and Hospital staff to ensure pour days (ranging from 100 to 300 yards per pour) did not interfere with the Hospital’s daily activities.

Tight coordination with the IOR and Special Inspector was critical to ensure compliance with the OSHPD-approved Construction Documents.

Public Safety was incorporated into every pre-task plan as new construction occurred adjacent to occupied structures.
