Regional Medical Center of San Jose is upgrading its capabilities for performing state-of-the-art cardiovascular surgery with the construction of this major operating facility. An existing operating room was carefully deconstructed. Access will be modified to increase operational efficiency. A new, multi-functional surgery facility is being built in this space. New dedicated air handling equipment is being set, overhead structural supports are being built, the new room interior finishes will follow and, last, installation of numerous pieces of medical equipment, monitors, casework and other outfitting components.

To facilitate construction in this critical environment, Meade’s infection control program was set up based upon a multi-phase approach, ensuring that air flow, dust and debris from the construction are carefully isolated and evacuated at every step of the project.
