Hawley Peterson & Snyder is one of the Bay Area’s most successful architects of new buildings and interior construction for medical, high tech, municipal and other important facilities. Their growth has driven them to move their company offices into a larger space. The project required asbestos remediation, replacement of structural fireproofing, core modification and build-out of office, conference, teaming and specialty spaces.
To achieve LEED Certification, construction methods, material handling, and record-keeping had to be planned and executive in strict accordance with the requirements of the US Green Building Council. Having the architect as a client required intensive attention to detail, functionality and quality control – all hallmarks of Meade’s approach to its projects. In addition the project logistics presented challenges of working during off-hours, avoiding impacts upon other tenants from noise, dust or fumes.
