Galileo’s decision to move a critical laboratory operation from the United Kingdom necessitated a lightning fast project to upgrade existing media processing rooms, and construct a new culture lab, cold storage and two shaker labs. The work included installing a new autoclave, building a new media cold room, constructing labs and installing DI system, clean air supply and exhaust, laboratory benches, flow hoods, biological hoods and other specialty systems.

Working only from photos of the UK facility, the team completed design drawings and permit approval within one week of award. Lab casework was packaged as design/build to expedite the schedule. Meade worked with the client to re-use UK equipment instead of purchasing domestic equipment. We also saved considerable cost by re-using existing lab electrical and process systems. The key to Meade’s success was our ability to facilitate instant team collaboration to meet the deadline of completion within one calendar month!
