This exceptionally successful project was a tremendous example of the power of teamwork.

Built in the midst of the critical care Labor & Delivery Suite, this project required extremely detailed and rigorous planning, infection control procedures, noise control and strict crew protocols to eliminate any risk to the patients.

The existing Well Baby Nursery was demolished and reconstructed as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, comprised of the NICU, a new Well Baby Nursery, and a Waiting Room.

The addition added 6 new NICU beds and 3 new Well Baby beds to the space.

Prior to this work, temporary spaces for the NICU and Well Baby functions had to be constructed.

Daily construction activities were coordinated internally with the crews as well as with the nursing staff of the floor. Meade worked directly with the Facilities Department to ensure utility tie-in shutdowns did not effect the daily operation of the hospital.

This project was completed on an accelerated schedule to meet licensing deadlines.
